Detectives investigating the murder of Constable Stephen Carroll have been granted an extension to question a 22- year-old man. The man, who was arrested on Thursday in Newtownabbey, is currently in custody at Antrim Serious Crime Suite. Police have been granted an extension until 1700 BST on Monday to question him. Constable Carroll was shot at Lismore Manor, in Craigavon, County Armagh, on 9 March. He died just 48 hours after two soldiers were shot dead by the Real IRA at an army base in Antrim. Dissident republicans, the Continuity IRA, said they murdered Constable Carroll.
