Three people have been arrested after a second night of disturbances in east Belfast on Tuesday. A number of petrol bombs and other missiles were thrown at police at the Albertbridge Road and Mountpottinger interface. The people were arrested for riotous behaviour, possession of a petrol bomb and disorderly behaviour. One officer received an injury to his face. Police said calm was restored by 0230 BST on Wednesday. On Monday night, up to 200 people assembled in the area after a Sinn Fein event to mark the closure of Mountpottinger Police Station. Police officers fired plastic baton rounds to break up the trouble between groups of nationalist and loyalist youths. More >>
