Another British soldier has been killed on patrol in southern Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the serviceman, from the 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment, was caught in an explosion east of Gereshk in Helmand Province. His next of kin have been informed.
His death takes the number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001 to 196.
It comes just hours after another soldier, serving with Nato forces, died in an explosion in southern Afghanistan.
Meanwhile three soldiers who were killed when their vehicle came under attack in Afghanistan on Thursday have been named as Corporal Kevin Mulligan, 26, Lance Corporal Dale Hopkins, 23, and Private Kyle Adams, 21.

Rest easy, soldier. On a seperate note, I am now convinced that the people setting these devices are getting help from sources known to all of us who were involved in a certain 38-year conflict.

Not only could you be right.... but they may also be learning off one another... 38 years ago they could have kiiled hundreds but for what ever reason they only managed a few at a time? ? occasionally getting more... So is this another training area? for future unknowns?
