Police are investigating a series of sectarian attacks in Ballymena. Petrol bombs were thrown at a house in Millfield on 28 July. A man was arrested and released pending further inquiries. Meanwhile, windows were smashed on two occasions over the weekend at a house in Dunclug Gardens. Two men were arrested but one was later released unconditionally while the second man was released on police bail. Police say there is a possibility the attacks are linked but the investigation is still ongoing. A PSNI spokeman confirmed that patrolling in the area has been increased and said police "will not hesitate to take appropriate action against anyone found to be committing acts of intimidation, or those who attack homes and endanger the lives of others."
Last month, the home of a Protestant family in the Dunclug estate was set on fire by arsonists and a sectarian motive is also suspected in that attack.

Ethnic cleansing. Rule by fear. Call it what you like.
