Watching the 'Ramp' ceremony of the three soldiers being repatriated to the UK, I was struck by the discrepancies which have become more apparent between this type of (Proper) ceremony and those afforded to the two soldiers killed in Ulster just recently. These two soldiers who were killed by terrorists in Northern Ireland were unceremoniously boxed up as 'freight' and shipped to England for hand over to the bereaved families. In fact, the manner of repatriation with regard to all of the Operation Banner fallen has caused distress to many NI Vets and their families. Some time soon there has to be a public, full recognition of the sacrifices made by young British soldiers during the long, difficult duration of Operation Banner.
