A community worker from Londonderry has said people involved in civilian patrols at a city flashpoint had to withdraw after they were threatened. Charlie McMenamin was one of a number of volunteers on a rota to try and prevent trouble at the Bishop Street/Fountain interface. Mr McMenamin said the threat was "more sinister" than before. "We've had incidents where people have stood as if they have guns in their hands," he said."Two weeks ago we received information from within the Fountain estate that we were being actively targeted and that one of our workers was at risk.
