Nine eleven men are being questioned by police after a Catholic man was beaten to death by a sectarian mob in Northern Ireland. The suspects have been detained in Coleraine, County Londonderry, after the murder of Kevin McDaid, 49, on Sunday evening. The father of four was targeted by a gang of up to 40 as he went to look for his children, following matches between Glasgow Rangers and Celtic. His wife Evelyn and another man were also injured. Following a band parade in Ballymena, Co Antrim, a man in his thirties was severly beaten at 0100 on Sunday morning. in the centre of town. This morning three brothers aged from 19 to 21, and a 17 year-old youth, appeared at Antrim court charged with attempted murder.
