A man wanted in connection with the murder of a British army recruitment officer was remanded in custody by the High Court in Dublin on Thursday. Declan Duffy, 36, of Hanover Street Dublin 8, was arrested on Thursday under a European Arrest Warrant. Mr Duffy, faces charges in the UK over the murder of Michael Newman in Derby city centre in England in 1992. He was remanded in custody until May 27. The court was told that a bail application would be made. Mr Duffy, who is originally from County Armagh, Northern Ireland is the second man to be arrested over the murder this week. Michael Newman was shot and killed as he walked to his car in the city centre in April 1992. BBC Report >>
