A historical mystery which centres around a collection of love letters between a husband and wife during the Second World War has unfolded in deepest Norfolk. Report by Leigh Morrison. Letters Imagine the consternation of RAF Honington chargehand Tony Roe when he moved into his lovely new house in Diss to find nestled in a cornflakes bag, in the depths of a chest of drawers, a collection of browning love letters written by two people he didn't know. The letters, which dated back to 1942, chronicled the lives of newly-weds Royal Naval Stoker George King and his wife Miriam, who corresponded over the first three years of their marriage while Mr King was being held in a prisoner of war camp. Mmmmm.....a little hanky panky perhaps?MoD News >>
