Hi All,
My name is Steve Fogden. I have no military experience whatsoever, but having researched my Chindit Grandfather and his time in Burma during WW2, I wonder now if I have missed out on something quite special?
You may have seen the 13th King's Roll of Honour on this great website, I helped Lars to put that together, after meeting him via the Burma Star forum in 2008. I have researched the 1943 Chindits in depth, one of whom was my maternal Grandad, Arthur Leslie Howney. Sadly he did not make it back home from Burma, dying a POW to the Japanese in Rangoon Jail in June 1943.
What I am trying to do is build up as much knowledge and material about the men of operation 'Longcloth' as I can. One day I may try and put it all on to my own website in their honour.
If anyone has or needs info on this subject it would be great to hear from you.
Thanks for letting a real civvy join up.
Steve.
