It is my very sad duty to inform the Regiment, and his many friends, that Major JJ Jobes MBE passed away peacefully this evening. John had endured Motor Neuron Disease with great bravery and humour for a number of years. Alison, his wife, will release more details in the near future. Pete Oakley Saturday 3rd October 2009

This is the first time I've been moved to write something on hearing that someone I knew has passed on. Johnny Jobes was my s/major in A coy. in minden and later on he was my boss in the M.T. A very fair man, always had time to listen and good humoured too, qualities needed when dealing with kingos.
