Here it is Johno: A DAD today accused council workers of desecrating his soldier son’s grave. Thomas Maxwell, 52, of Norris Green was paying his weekly visit to Lee Maxwell’s grave in Everton Cemetery when he found a huge mound of soil had been dumped on the plot, obscuring the military headstone. The 23-year-old member of the King’s Regiment was preparing for deployment to Iraq, but died in March 2003 in a car crash on the way to the church where he was due to be best man for a friend. The rings were found on his body and the devastated newly weds cancelled their honeymoon to attend his funeral. Mr Maxwell told the ECHO: “It was pure disbelief – I found the workers to ask what was going on and all they could say was ‘we’ve got to put it somewhere’. I said they should use a skip, but their excuse was they don’t have the staff and that they do it all the time. “How would they feel if it was their child? “It’s clearly a military headstone and we’ve had to have cracks at the base repaired before, which made us think this may have happened before. “I’m in the Territorial Army and some of the lads were outraged, they wanted to come and move it themselves but I said no. “I want an apology from the council, this is simply disrespectful.” Liverpool Echo Article >>Attachments:

Having been directly involved in the accident mentioned and tried to revive maxi on the scene i find this miss treatment absolutly disgusting. It also shows what disrespect the population of the UK have for its serving soliders. Time after time i ask why do we lay our lives on the line for this crap country with its crap people, why should we care, and my answer is "NEC ASPERA TERRENT" even if it cost us dearly.
