St John's Ornamental and Memorial Garden, Liverpool was opened in 1904 and is located at the rear of St Georges Hall. Within the garden is a Monument to The Kings Liverpool Regiment. This monument has fallen into disrepair and is blighted by hoards of youths (Goths) congregating around and climbing on and damaging the monument. It is the responsibility of Liverpool City Council to maintain this garden and its monuments. RHQ Preston and City Office Liverpool are aware of the problems and are in the process of taking steps to rectify the situation. It would be a great help if all ex Kingsmen wrote to the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Municipal Buildings, Dale Street, Liverpool L2 2DH asking for action to be taken to resolve this situation and to ask for additional security on this site so that the offending youths can be moved on. Ex Kingsmen who live within the City of Liverpool Boundaries, are also asked to write to their respective Councilors asking for action to be taken.
