British soldiers based in the UK and in Germany have received a warm welcome home from operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo this weekend. Soldiers from 33 Armoured Engineer Squadron, 26 Engineer Regiment, based at Swinton Barracks, received a rapturous welcome from loved ones as they returned to Tidworth, Wiltshire, yesterday, Sunday 20 September 2009, from Afghanistan. While a similar reception was offered yesterday to over 500 men and women from 20th Armoured Brigade (The Iron Fist), who marked their return from operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo by parading through their Garrison town of Paderborn, Germany. In Paderborn, 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards led the parade to the beat of the Band of the Scots Guards, displaying their standard, followed by famous units such as the Queen's Royal Hussars, 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, and 5th Battalion The Rifles.
