An earthquake has hit Cumbria, the British Geological Survey has confirmed. A 3.7 magnitude earth tremor centred on Ulverston. Twitter users in Lancaster began posting reports of a quake moments after it occurred. There are no reports of any injuries or damage to buildings. It occurred 8km (5 miles) underneath Ulverston at 11.22am, according to the BGS in Edinburgh.
