Cheers Eric, Welcome mate. I hope we can get together sometime soon on one of the special occasions for 2009. Thanks for the newsletter. I'm going through it tonight if I can get the time. My old platoon sergeant and friend Tony H. did well for himself eventually reaching CO! I knew he had it in him, he had that way about him. It was a big shock to me when I read about Eric Lowe. You don't think about people for such a long time and then this happens and you remember being close to them at one time, it's a real shame. Once more, welcome to the site Eric. Be Well.

hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. my name is kerry lawlor and although i didnt serve in the kings myself, my father did. my sincerest thanks to those who created this site as it has given me the opportunity to talk to you and possibly hear info about my father and what he used to get up to! lol his name is michael lawlor and served 20 odd years until approx 1993. he served during the falklands and i NI 1990-1992. take care

Hi all my name is Alf garner-Jones I served in 1king's 1959-1965, done my training at Fullword Bk's Preston, joined the battalion 1960 in Nairobi. Kenya. E.Africa, went to Kuwait active service stationed there 4 months, then returned to Kenya, to Brigade HQ, returned to Blighty 1962, Then stationed at Chester with 1 King's after leave, Sainton camp 'A'Coy 6 months in this time I was Maj Erringtons batman, Then posted to Waval Bk's Berlin W.Germany 2 years 'A'Coy, then as Regimental Cook, then back to 'A' Coy before returning to Blighty, then went on posting to Ballykinler N.Ireland 'A' Coy for 6 months then went as Pay Masters batman/ dispatch clerk before being demobed 1st September 1965 after 6 years service,

Hi all Keith Page but known in battalion as Jimmy Page here living in fazakerley, remarried, 1st Bn from 1976 Londonderry C Coy 9Pln, Mortars, Then A Coy 3Pln Ended service in Colchester att to 1korb in july 1988.

Welcome Jimmy. I served in Derry 76 too. A Coy. (2 Ptn) I started out in Mortars in HK before that. Make yourself at home.

Pete Jones was a great footballer along with Glen Mason & Kev Conchie....Pete missed out to Sammy Lee ask.. him Ey Pete? Tommo and I could not even spell futball!!!!

Hi Frenchie. I joind the bat in hong kong in 74, i was in the recce, dicky bridges was oc of the recce at the time, hooten 99 and hooton 19 were two of the crew i can remember, dennis vine is another one then there was bomber brown paule sheperd joe (cant think of his surname)
