Was a kingo, 71/72 to about 75/76 i believe, joined young (15) and saw hong kong for 2 and a half years before doing a tour in NI. does anyone remember a scrawny lad called David Lovatt? used to hang round with a Tommy Greenwood? I'm afraid i don't know what coy he was in or any other details?
I'm just trying to find info or anyone who knew him.
Thanks! Pete
edit: sorry forgot to say, he was born and raised in Wythenshawe so was a manchester kingsman ta.

That's spot on with my service Pete but I can't recall the name. It's a pity you can't find out what company your dad served in. I'm sure someone will pop up with a bit more info on here. Good luck mate. Ed

some updated info, apparently he was in 71 to 77, did hk for 2 1/2 yrs then did 18 months in NI apparently the unit did 18 over 6 months due to fighting in hong kong, punishment i believe? just found out he was on the shooting team too, under a cpt piebur? (not sure the last name there) tbh i think i've just learned more about his time in the army then he's ever told me in the last 30 years!
cheers ed btw, i hope i do find out more about his service and if he has any m8's knocking around, he doesn't talk much about his service although i'm immensely proud of him for it all the same.
